CamChat review
A quick look at CamChat: instant cam matching, gender filters, and the ads you pay for it with.
Published 2026-08-30
CamChat is one of the many "open the page and you are on camera" sites that filled the gap Omegle left behind. There is no download and no profile — you allow the camera and the queue starts.
What it does well
- Starting is genuinely fast. No account, no email, no setup screen.
- A gender filter is offered up front, which is what most people come looking for.
- It works fine in a mobile browser, so you are not pushed towards an app store.
Where it falls short
- Advertising is heavy, and some of it is placed close enough to the controls to catch a mis-tap.
- The filters that matter most tend to sit behind a paid tier.
- Moderation feels thin. Skipping past unwanted content is part of the experience.
Worth trying?
If you only want to see a few faces without committing to anything, it does the job. If you want conversations rather than a slot machine, use a site that puts the chat first and the upsell second — text chat or video chat here starts in one click and stays free.
